I'm sitting here for the first time as a "blogger" and I don't have a freaking clue what to write. Welcome to the most pathetic attempt at a blog.
Have you ever worked with people who give you all kinds of advice and ask you constantly why you are doing what you are doing and why you are doing it the particular way you are doing it?? And for the sake of making a friend rather than an enemy you choose not to tell the person to kindly shut up. Also choosing to keep it to yourself that regardless of how much knowledge the person has, they aren't using their own advice properly.
The Bible calls this the difference between knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge is "knowing" the answer (or at least feeling confident in your info), while wisdom is the putting to use of that knowledge. Knowledge says, "electricity jolting through my body is bad". Wisdom is shutting the electricity off before cutting the wires while standing in a puddle.
Many times in my life I've been the knowledge guy. The one who asked all the time why you were doing what you were doing.............Yeah, I used to be that guy. But here's my first piece of advice. If your intention is to conform someone into what you are, DON'T do that.
I'm a carpenter by trade. Specifically, custom stairs and trim. The fancy stuff. In my business there are several ways to get from point A to point B and IT'S OK to not do it the exact same way as others. Obviously if there are time issues or quality issues then there needs to be some adjusting, just like in the Christian life.
There are no "one size fits all" in the Christian life. What you are experiencing as a believer is a custom plan by the One Who holds all the plans. One of a kind. So while we as believers are to encourage and exhort one another, I would caution those of you who feel it necessary to micromanage your brother or sister in Christ. Unless the Bible clearly calls something wrong, then exhort and encourage, but never live your life through someone else. We are to, "work out your own salvation" (Philippians 2:12), not work out others salvation for them.
So if anyone is actually reading this, let the hate mail begin.
